Tribal communities have been an important part of Indian society since the time of the Ramayana and Mahabharata. They have rich cultures, traditions, and heritage, and are known for their unique lifestyles and customs.

THE BONDAS
This journey to discover Orissa in southern India will take you to discover a world of lush green mountains with rich rice fields and terraces. In particular the colorful and unusual Kondh, Gadabba and the famous Bonda tribe, whose animist societies are totally separate and in great contrast to the traditional Hindu societies found throughout India. Exploring the weekly markets you will encounter women with tattoos on their faces and hands, layers of beads covering their bare breasts, aluminum necklaces and a multitude of earrings.



THE APATANI
The Apatani tribe are an ethnic group of people who live in the Ziro valley in Arunachal Pradesh, India. They are known for their colorful culture, traditional village councils, and sustainable livelihoods. The Apatani are known for their traditional songs, dances, and festivals, such as Dree, Myoko, Yapung, and Murung. They also have intricate handloom designs, cane and bamboo crafts, and unique textiles.
THE BISON HORN MARIA
This tribal community of chhattisgarh derived of wearing a distinctive head-dress, which resembles the horns of a wild bison . they generally wear that head-dress during ceremonies. The main distinct language spoken by this tribe of CHHATTISGARH is DANtribesI Maria. Some of them even speak understandable GONDI dialects, which is an oral language of Dravidian origin.


THE DHANETA JAT
The Dhaneta Jat are a nomadic, Sunni Muslim tribe of cattle herders in the Kutch region of India. They are known for their large, crescent-shaped gold nose rings, called Nathli, which are worn by women after marriage. The rings are so heavy that they are held up by black thread tied to the hair.
THE KONYAKS
The Konyaks are a major Naga ethnic group native to the Northeast Indian state of Nagaland. They inhabit the Mon District, which is also known as The Land of the Anghs. The Anghs/Wangs are their traditional chiefs whom they hold in high esteem. Facial tattoos were earned for taking an enemy's head.
